Hey Ramiro,
Just a quick note about Algy for my scene. For the chase around the
table sequence I want Algy to be having fun keeping the case away from
Jack. Thank you for coming to rehearsal.

As I can't seem to find your midterm page to leave my comment at, I'll
comment here.

As an actor in this scene, I was frequently frustrated by the lack of
preparation. We did not receive the blocking until the day before the
final presentation. That being said, the idea of Jean as a transsexual
woman-to-man fascinated me. I think it was a strong, unusual choice,
and it had a lot of potential. I would have liked to use the props
given to me more than I did; I believe I used the wine and glass only
once, possibly twice (can't remember precisely). The space was
utilized all right, I suppose...it seemed like we were constantly
upstaging each other and ourselves.

I also felt this scene could have been a lot more developed. There
were many parts were blocking seemed awkward and the actors weren't
sure what to do. The props were nice but I don't think they were used
very well. I wish the boots had played more of a part in the scene
instead of sitting there being ignored. I do like the idea of Jean
being a transsexual.

I'm not sure what I think about Miss Julie sitting on the floor at the
top of the scene. It felt unclear. Maybe it would have been better for
her to kind of drop to the floor ("fall") on her "I'm falling" line?

I felt like Miss J was kneeling for a bit too long.

Jean was already standing when Miss Julie said "Stand up when I speak
to you".

I thought the tension between the characters was good and liked when
they were getting in each other's faces.

In regard to Tricia's post, I don't understand what "unclear" means.
I don't think that falling on in the line falling is a choice I would
make.  Actually I feel like that would take away from the meaning of
the line and make the text about literally falling.  "Help me, I've
fallen and I can't get up."

To Jenna's reply,  I do wish the boots had played a bigger part in the
scene.  As for the all the props, I provided the props for the actor
to use.  My hope was that the actors would have found uses for the
props on their own, like good little actors.  :)

More on my horrible midterm later.

I don't understand what you mean by preparation.  If you mean only one
rehearsal before
the midterm showing, then I agree with you.  If you wanted to use the
props more than you
did, then you should have.  You could have also asked for suggestions
on how or when to
use your props; you did ask about the props but if you had more
question then...
