Our website and email list were created in 2006 to support the work of the Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) for Oakland Police Beat 22x and NCPCs of neighboring beats. The site received over 25,000 visits in its first year and continues to reach new users daily,  both locally and throughout Oakland.
Many Oakland citizens use our links about disaster readiness information. The City of Oakland's Municipal Code is also available through our site.

The site deals with crime reduction, disaster preparedness, fire protection, traffic & pedestrian safety in the greater Dimond area of central Oakland, California. The website also serves as an informational tool for Neighborhood Watch and disaster preparedness groups in Dimond and surrounding neighborhoods.

NOTE: In 2007 the Dimond Public Safety Council (DPSC) was dissolved by a decision of the Oakland Community Policing Advisory Board and the Board of Directors of the Dimond Improvement Association, in order to make way for a Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council serving only Beat 22X.

This list and our Dimond neighborhood website ( https://sites.google.com/site/dimondneighborhood/home ) will be still occasionally updated by volunteers. We will continue to post news articles and public safety information relevant to the DPSC's original purpose. You can contact us here.
