Hi all, I currently have 8 ds18s20's implemented logging to a mysql
database and graphing with dygraph on the web. I would like to add
current monitoring for each of the lines coming out of my circuit
breaker panel and am thinking of purchasing a number of ds2438's and
split core current transformers.

Does anyone have any experience with these ds2438's with digitemp?
Which pin(s) is digitemp capable of reading? VAD? VDD? Vsense+?
Vsense-?

I don't think digitemp reads any of those, but owfs should.

However, keep in mind that CTs will not compute power factor and that
your wattage will be off by up to 40%.
For a better monitoring solution look at the ECM1240 from Brultech.

according to the digitemp website it does support monitoring the ds2438...I just don't know what ports.

I did a good bit of reading on your site as well as on the brultech site tonight and I'm very interested in this device.  I seems like a much simpler option albeit a bit more costsly than what I was planning.  I'm going to continue to do a bit more research, but I think the ecm1240 is the option I'll end up going with.  Thanks for the heads up!

It has been a while since I used a 2438, but digitemp can output the raw
values if you pass -A with a DS2438 on the bus.
