We are pleased to announce that a new version of the RASP wrapper has
been included in the SVN repository of GATE and can be found in the
latest snapshot (
http://www.gate.ac.uk/download/snapshots/).
This plugin replaces the existing RASP wrapper and had been developed
by DigitalPebble Ltd.
RASP (Robust Accurate Statistical Parsing) is a robust parsing system
for English, developed by the Natural Language and Computational
Linguistics group at the University of Sussex. RASP is freely
available for evaluation and research but can be purchased for
integration in commercial applications. More information can be found
on the RASP website
This plugin exposes the modules of RASP2 as individual Processing
Resources (Tokenizer - POS Tagger - Morphological Analyser and
Parser), as well as a JAPE component that translates the output of the
ANNIE POS Tagger into the tagset used by RASP. The RASP2 plugin is
described in the GATE documentation and on the DigitalPebble website.
