Hi all,

Following up an earlier thread about a BoF session at iPress:
http://groups.google.com/group/digital-curation/msg/b51517c0cdcf8702

I'm making my Vienna travel arrangements this week. Is there a
particular day & time slot that works well for others to organize a
micro-services BoF session at iPress? I assume we would have to do
this outside the official program stream. http://www.ifs.tuwien.ac.at/dp/ipres2010/program.html

I myself will likely arrive in Vienna on Saturday so Sunday works for
me. Otherwise maybe a slot parallel to the Wednesday workshop stream?
Any other suggestions?

As for a rough agenda we can do this Barcamp style but it would also
be good to follow-up on any CurateCamp and OpenRepositories
discussions/action items. Maybe we can setup a shared wiki page to
have some consistency between these events?

Cheers,

Oops, just noticed that Tutorials are being run on the Sunday. I guess
this will be impossible to do without conflicting with something. How
much time should we schedule? I figured on a minimum of 2-3 hrs?

Great idea, Peter. Until we find a better place for a shared wiki
page, I've set up a page in this group:

http://groups.google.com/group/digital-curation/web/microservices-scratchpad

All members can create and edit pages now -- thanks to Google Groups'
lack of options around page-editing authorization -- and so I fully
expect for some things to be defaced. I'll be monitoring pages every
so often and will revert any spam/porn/etc. edits. Consider this an
experiment.

Hi,

Has there been any luck setting up a BOF session at iPres 2010? I'm
one of the Planets Project technical team, and although I'm not able
to attend iPres this year I am keen to ensure that at least one person
who has worked on our service architecture attends this BOF session,
if it goes ahead. Our preservation service architecture seems to be
pleasingly similar to the curation micro-services approach, and it
would be great to explore this similarity and see if we should bring
them closer together.

For us, it would be ideal if this could be carefully orchestrated to
run within (or parallel to part of) the JHOVE2 tutorial, but I suspect
the tutorial program is full enough already!

Cheers,
Andy Jackson
