I added a couple of comments to dug articles, deleted the comments,
and find that they still come back in a query for comments.

It's not a caching thing as both direct and proxy requests return the
same results.

My request looks like this:
http://digg.com/tools/services/?endPoint=/users/flocktest/comments&appkey=http%3A%2F%2Fflock.com&type=xml&min_date=1213982916

I expect this request to return no results as all those comments were
deleted.

Is this expected behavior?

Also, what is the time span for comments displayed in the friend
comments page?

URL example: http://digg.com/users/<<username>>/friends/comments

That's not an API question, unless I misunderstand. That's a page on
the main web site.

I don't actually know the answer to your question, as I didn't work
on that part of the site. I'm pretty sure that page is limited to
recent activity, for performance reasons. The idea is that each of
the friends' profiles offer their full history, so it's OK that it
isn't duplicated in the profiles of each of their fans.

Ugh. Bug. Fixed.

Which is to say: Please check the fix we just made live, and let me
know if you still see the problem.

Thanks for reporting it.

Steve, would you mind getting this information for us.

It would help us with our people side bar implementation.

Cheers

Ryan, I believe the time span is one week.

I just added a user (on digg) to my friends list who has commented
hundreds of times within the last month, but only his comments from
the last 7 days show up in my 'friends comments' section.

To try it yourself, just find a very active commenter on digg, add
them as a friend and then check the friends' comments page.
I used this guy: http://digg.com/users/alapoet
I have no idea who he is, but he comments a lot so he was perfect.

Thanks for that. Cheers.
