Hi,

FYI, I finished a proof-of-concept that aims to connect diaspora,
friendica, statusnet, facebook, google+, twitter, and a few indie web
examples with each other without any of these software platforms
needing to change their protocols at the fundamental level:
http://useraddress.net

the ideas is once all these platforms are connected in terms of who is
"visible" to each other, aligning the tools and functionality will be
an easier second step. interested what you guys think of this!

if there's enough interest from the main platforms, we'll find a way
to run this in production.

cheers,
Michiel

thanks! :)

yep, it's written in nodejs. it's quite hacky (really just a
proof-of-concept) but the code is on
https://github.com/unhosted/useraddress

in the case of diaspora it will use
https://github.com/unhosted/useraddress/blob/master/parser/xrd.js to
discover (iirc) full name, avatar, profile URL and the newsfeed
end-point.
