Makerfaire / Noisebridge

Hey Guys!

I had a Delta voucher expiring and spontaneously decided to head west to attend Maker Faire and stop in at Noisebridge in San Francisco. Is anyone else going? Is there anything you guys want me to check out / bring / take? I know this is very last minute (flying out tomorrow) but I spaced on the whole thing as I've been so busy. I don't even know where I'm staying for the week yet! Wish me luck. I'll come back bearing lore next Tuesday.

you might want to check out the TechShop, http://techshop.ws/, while you're out there. It's a fantastic example of a makerspace and the people there were very welcoming when I visited. Let me know if you want a couple SV contacts if you have extra time and want to meet more new people than you otherwise will.

Would you be willing to take lots of pictures or video and post about them on the DHMN website?

I think the sewing machines at noisebridge might be of some interest, given that we've been indicating textiles as an area of focus for our makerspace.

I'll definitely checkout the Techshop, will they let me in without a membership? And yeah, I'll have more time than I know what to do with so I'll welcome any pertinent contacts, thanks!

just tell the techshop people you're there from out of state and want to get a quick tour of the place. somebody will probably be around at least during the day to show you around. you could also give them a call when you're out there and confirm a time that you can get a look at the place.

I'll send you a couple contacts directly with a little info about them. If they sound like people you want to connect with, I'll do that via email and you can look them up when you're out there.
