Call for open nominations for "Officers" of the Distributed Hacker / Maker Network as stated in Section 2.2 of the bylaws

If you are interested in fulfilling the duties of any of the positions, please add your name. Feel free to nominate other persons. Feel free to reject your nominations if you are named but do not wish to take on the role. If you want to assist the DHMN but do not / can not take on an Officer role, there will certainly be other opportunities (committees, projects, anything/everything) that could use your volunteered time and energy.

Please reply/respond by February 25th 8pm. At that time, nominations will be finalized and the vote taken.

 1. President
 2. Vice President
 3. Treasurer
 4. Secretary
 5. Chief Technology Officer
 6. Community Liaison

I would like to retain my position as Chief Technology officer.

My accomplishments as an officer in the past year include:
I organized two day long Make sessions at the Food Pantry.
I helped organize the DHMN picnic.
I talked to Harmony Cafe and got us the Thursday night space we all enjoy so much.
I initiated the Coder's Workshop, and found us space at the Appleton and Menasha Libraries.
I provided technical assistance on many DHMN  projects, including ED-209, connecting up our Artemis games, the Red Bull contest, and many others.
I badgered many companies to give DHMN samples of new technology (with little luck).

My promises and goals for the next year are:
I will continue to initiate new DHMN events, including make meetings, classes, workshops, contests, picnics, and conferences.
I will acquire and maintain the technical equipment we need for our own space.
I will research new cutting edge technologies and introduce them to our group.
I will provide technical support for members needing help with projects.
I will continue my dialog with technology companies to provide us with cool gadgets and technologies.

In the future I envision organizing something I call: DHMN Labs.
DHMN Labs goal is to initiate projects and ideas that will benefit DHMN as a whole. Members of DHMN Labs will be the people who give their time
and expertise setting up and maintaining our equipment, providing technical support, and creating new projects that might bring in revenue or spread the DHMN word. We will research technologies and incorporate them into our space, such as electronic door locks, notifications of building occupancy, beverage machines, robot helpers, and decompression chambers.

If you vote for me, I promise our robot overlords will be gentle with you.

Alright, let's get it together guys:

I nominate Paul K for President - c'mon, look at that resume!
I nominate Jason K for CTO - because Paul needs a minion.
I nominate Mike P for Secretary - who do you think makes all those 'admin' posts on DHMN.net?
I nominate Jacob K for Treasurer - he's good at making things happen on a budget.
I nominate Tim B for Community Liaison - he's enthusiastic about growing the group.

VP? Anyone?

I could not say it better myself Alex. And I nominate Alex as VP why, because he takes action when needed.
Sincerely,

I'm afraid I can't accept the nomination for VP, because I will be moving out of the area this summer.

I endorse Ed K for the position of Community Liaison. It sounds like he already has lots of community connections, especially in personal and professional networks where DHMN is not already connected.

Sure, I'll run for president (or vice president).
If I become president, you will have to refer to me as "Exalted One" and bow in my presence.
If I become vice-president, then refer to me as "The Glorious Chosen" and maybe perform a respectful curtsy or high five.
Seriously though, if I'm elected any officer position, I'll continue to further our goals of opening our own Makerspace, organizing events, and spreading the word.
Long live the DHMN!

I'm going to officially pass on any nominations,  Scheduling makes it hard for me to make events/meetings on a regular basis.

I realize that my voice on the list has been pretty quiet as of late and my actions have been eclipsed by the other members who have been very active in organizing the various meetups and Maker sessions.

If I am to be ousted as VP, then I will most definitely plead no contest...  :)

My time is currently getting consumed by family, work, and training.  Monday and Thursday nights have been very hard to attend do to several changes.

Given my activity level, I do not feel that I'm helping to be a good leader of the organization.  However, I will take on roles if deemed necessary and do my best to attend any and all meetups.

Let it be known that Mark Nickel has managed *ALL* DNS changes required
for the dhmn.net domain (including paying for the domain!) AND managed
the mailing list AND board member email accounts, since the inception of
this group.

Every request of Mark in these areas was handled quickly and graciously.

DHMN appreciates you Mr. Nickel.

Of course!

Oh, and I'm happy to continue doing such things btw!  I can manage all of that very easily, it's just difficult to make the IRL stuff...
