I am in favor of the name, and would sponsor if there isn't a large outcry soon.
Would the whole sign include more? Such as:
DHMN.net
Appleton Makerspace
Community workshop -- create, inspire, share.
Note that I can't mess with the font here, but "Appleton makerspace" would be the most prominent piece.
DHMN Board members,I move that the current DHMN facility located on Morrison Avenue near College Avenue in Appleton hereby be called "Appleton Makerspace". The idea was put forth by Alex Hunt on the Trello boards.Reasoning:"Keep it simple. It conveys location and removes the mis-represented "hacker". And no, "DHMN" does not need to be in the name - it just clutters things up."Let me know if you're willing to sponsor this name, or if you wanted to wait for more brainstorming or voting. I'm OK with it either way, but it seems like a good idea to have a name before HarmonyCon III, and our bylaws require three days notice on the mailing list before a vote is considered. Thanks!Ross

That was my thought. Dhmn.net and the description and slogan would be small, but there to provide context and a URL for those that aren't quite sure what we are.
The sign is so long I think we could make it fit nicely.
I think DHMN could be withheld from the sign and put in an artistic wall treatment or kinetic art
I second the motion. Perhaps I'm thirding the motion. I also agree with the friendly addendum recommended by Mark. I believe that including our roots including the DHMN moniker is important to hold on to, especially in the way of signs advertising materials and business cards.
