Powerhouse Comics is looking for someone to create a sensor that will play
a sound file of a wookie when people pass in front of it. They'll supply
the file, and i can provide components. Who is interested in making the
system? The final product will be installed in the store behind the
standup of chewie and we can put a poster up too encouraging people to join
DHMN!

We should go down there and meet Zack. But basically it just needs to
detect a person and play the file. If we wanted to get fancy we could
randomize when it plays, or play different files at different times. I say
field trip....

Yeah that sounds like the ticket... And since it reads from an SD card it
would be easy enough for the shop to swap out files seasonally as long as
they had the same name? But i digress with scope creep...

How well lit is the area? Could we achieve the same results using a photoresistor instead of a pir?

As well lit as any retail store. Tell us more about the photoresistor ...
Why this instead of a pir?

Well, I was looking at the singing fish, and they have a photoresistor at the bottom of a small hole. This way the fish triggers only when someone walks in front of it, as opposed to just walking near it. Plus, photoresistors are cheaper than a pir sensor.

This sound like an important qualification in the requirements... Near or
in front of.... Price however is not an issue. Sounds like we have at
least three people interested in meeting with Zack... Should i arrange a
meeting?

PIR might be better. If somebody tries to break into the store in the
middle of the night they could be greeted by a wookie even with
limited/no light..

But a PIR might set off the wookie when a customer on the other side of the
store moves around. That long range might be good for a whole house alarm
system, but would probably get annoying unless the wookie was tucked in a
corner somewhere (which isn't good for business).

A box will be constructed to hold the parts, with the sensor recessed and a
batter box to drive the device. The box will be on the floor, and the
speaker wire will run up behind the standup to a speaker behind the head.
Alex will find a speaker. Assumption: get it to Jacob's house?.
Alex and Jacob will look around for an SD card, if none found we'll take
donations from the list or order one.
Zack will orchestrate the wookie-sound recording w/ Bob Watson and Kirby.
Next meeting time: recommend the Saturday following arrival of Wave Shield,
assuming Jacob gives us the go ahead. Wave Shield expected delivery: .Mon
Sept 24th (late estimate)
Awesome work guys!
