Hi everybody,
I invite you to join us at 10:30 tomorrow for practice, followed by a brief dharma talk and discussion.
This Sunday, I'll begin a series of talks on the Paramitas, practices of that help us realize our own innate transcendental virtues. The first Paramita is the practice of generosity. We will talk about what generosity is, what it isn't and how we experience it at various levels of our being. Sakya Pandita said: ' the result of generosity is always richness, the result of miserliness is always poverty. This principle is constant,'
Since these paramitas ARE practices, lets encourage each other to practice and notice our experience of generosity throughout our daily lives. By spending some time focused on each of the paramitas, we will begin to understand them better. So March will be 'generosity' month. We'll continue to talk about our experience of generosity when we get together on March 24th. By then, we may not have perfected generosity, but I'm sure we will have understood and experienced generosity and its benefits.
Don't forget to 'spring ahead' tonight -it's daylight savings time again!
Hope to see you tomorrow.
Love,
Janet
