All are welcome for the upcoming shed raising at Aranya Bodhi Hermitage this weekend May 26 and 27.
We especially appreciate whoever is handy with tools, whether basic or advanced in skill ... whoever is energetic ... who is able to drive a pickup truck ... whoever likes to cook or bring prepared food to eat.
Please consider bringing your own work gloves and basic tool set, and keeping track of your possessions during the weekend. We could particularly use the loan of an extra portable electric circular saw, portable electric screwdrivers, a portable electric mitre saw (plug-in ok), saw horses, and weed-whacker.
There has already been a wonderful whirlwind of help for our new robe shed and other fix-up projects in preparation for our 2012 Vassa retreat.
We are grateful to have Justin, a skilled volunteer, coming in Tuesday to help out with preparations. Winfield, our volunteer architect is finalizing the plans and detailed instructions. Rody has donated a truckload of lumber. John has sold us a flat-bed trailer platform which he is delivering to the hermitage. Amelia has donated a new refrigerator for our kitchen. Brian has built custom benches for the kitchen. Cliff has offered technical advice on rodent-proofing our yurt. Windows are donated by Insight Retreat Center. Windows and doors donated by Deconstruction, a building materials recycling center in Windsor. And several donors have made financial contributions towards the cost of building materials.
If anyone would like to arrive early ... Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday ... he or she could help us to be well-prepared. This early bird might help out with driving, cooking, or shopping, or lifting.
With metta and appreciation, Ayya Sobhana and all hermitage residents
