Subject: Monastics Away from Bodhi House for Vassa Retreat

 *Monastics Away From Bodhi House*
*During Three Month Vassatime Retreat *
*End of July thru End of October, 2010*
--

Dear friends,

The monastics of our community who have been resident at our Bodhi House for
much of the last year will be away at our Sonoma Coast hermitage, Aranya
Bodhi, for the next 3 months.

The Bodhi House will be quiet during this time, with no monastics in
residence.  Please do not bring or drop off fresh or highly perishable food
dana at the Bodhi House from August through October.

Dear friend and Bodhi House owner, Liz Crisp <lizcr...@comcast.net>,
will remain at the Bodhi House.  If you would like to bring useful
supplies for the hermitage, let her know.  Please phone her before coming
by, as she is not always home. Her phone number is below. If you can't reach
her, please leave a phone message, and drop the things that you have brought
with a note attached in front of the Bodhi House front door.

After the monastics' 3-month vassatime retreat, we plan for the Bodhi
House to continue to be the Aranya Bodhi Hermitage's in the Bay annex.
Hermitage women monastics may return to the Bodhi House for 2 or 3 days once
or twice per month.  These days here will be announced through our
Dhammadharini Googlegroup, together with opportunities for offering
dana, meditating together, listening to Dhamma and getting personal practice
advice, as well as for possible special programs and Dhamma teachings in the
Bay Area.

In the meantime, we hope that you will enjoy and benefit greatly from the
Dhamma teachings and meditation programs at these other local Buddhist
monasteries, temples, meditation groups and Dhamma centers, together
with your own practice.

If you need to reach any of our monastics who will be on retreat at the
hermitage in urgency, please email to awakeningfor...@gmail.com.  The
hermitage has no phone, but the Awakening Forest email will be checked daily
by someone, providing there is enought sunshine for the solar powered
satellite internet to operate.

We hope you have an excellent three months during this traditional Buddhist
Vassa-season monastic retreat time.  Our monastics at the hermitage will be
wishing you well, together with all beings, every day during their retreat.
Let's wish them well too.

With abundant metta,

Your friends at the Bodhi House
(soon mostly, very happily, to be on retreat)
