Dear friends,
If you were at Wat Buddhanusorn in Fremont on Saturday you know what a treat we all experienced when Shaila Catherine shared dhamma about "Intention and the Power of Thought." Shaila's teachings are very deep yet also apply to our daily life. Her extraordinary creativity and generosity in offering a daylong as a benefit for the bhikkhuni sangha is much appreciated. Relinquishing any offering to herself, Shaila kindly dedicated any dana offered to the Dhammadharini bhikkhuni sangha.
Members of Wat Buddhanusorn generously offered the space and many participated in the retreat. In addition to the inspiring setting of the Thai Buddhist temple, we have much gratitude for the support of volunteers from Wat who helped organize and set up the event, even offering plates and silverware for our dana meal! A special thanks goes out to Khun Luck Ruckchart of the Wat Buddhanusorn Board of Directors who was invaluable in helping to organize the event and help with the volunteers. In addition, I would like to thank friends of Dhammadharini Barnali Barua and her husband, Sylvia Gomes, Lee who drove the monastics from Aranya Bodhi, and Treasurer of the Board Shirley Kwok who volunteered to help with setting up and clean up. I'm afraid I missed a few of you who helped with clean-up. So, though I may have forgotten the names of all who helped out, please know that I really appreciate your contribution.
If you were not able to attend, take heart. We are hoping to offer additional events at Wat Buddhanusorn in the future.
Much metta,
Shari
