June Meeting announcement - follows:
Announcing the Inaugural DFW Groovy Grails Users Group

The DFW Groovy Grails Users Group (DFW2gug) will be a place for
technology professionals, hackers, and those looking to get their
start in software development an opportunity to learn and further
refine their Groovy and Grails skills.

Our monthly meetings will be a mix of lecture presentation and group
programming activities.  The goal will be to cover a topic well enough
that members will have the knowledge to go home and use a new skill.

We will meet on the first Wednesday of every month.  Our first meeting
will be Wednesday, 6/2/2010.  The meetings will run from 6:30 -
8:30pm, with the first 30 minutes being social time over pizza or a
sandwich provided by our host and sponsor, Improving Enterprises.

The leaders of the DFW2GUG are Derek Lane, Morgan Nelson and Erik
Weibust.  For more information about our group please follow us on
twitter via @dfw2gug (https://twitter.com/dfw2gug) or be an active or
passive member of our Google Group (http://groups.google.com/group/
dfw2gug).

Our first presentation will be by Morgan Nelson, "Get to Know Groovy,
a *Gentle* Introduction."  The presentation will be a survey on the
basics of Groovy, how it compares to Java, and other things to
ponder...

Morgan Nelson got his first taste of programming in TI-Basic on the
TI-99/4a many years ago.  Despite this, he stuck with it and is
currently a senior engineer at Quickoffice, Inc.  He has been
developing software professionally for 7 years, and has over 10
additional years in network administration, becoming intimately
familiar with TCP/IP networking and Linux based servers.  When he
isn’t absorbing information about programming, he enjoys spending time
with his wife and two children.

*** First Meeting is Wednesday, 6/2/10 ***
*** 6:30 - 8:30pm @ Improving Enterprises ***
