VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT - Equal Access
The Equal Access mission is to create positive changes for large numbers of people in the developing world by providing critically needed information and education through locally produced and targeted content; the use of appropriate and cost-effective technology; and through effective partnerships and community engagement. We invite applications from qualified, experienced and interested Nepali citizens for the following position based in Kathmandu, Nepal in anticipation of the departure of the incumbent for an International PhD:
Country Director – Nepal
The Country Director will lead the overall organizational operations in the realization of its Nepal program; oversee general administration and financial management of the Nepal office; develop and maintain key partnerships and represent the organization to key donors and partner groups; have oversight responsibilities for staff and contract management; and lead resource mobilization efforts. This position will afford the appropriate candidate the opportunity to play a leading role in the development, maintenance and scaling-up of development communication programs to support national efforts towards reconstruction and long-term development in Nepal.
Qualifications/Essential skills
Must be prepared to join a growing organization and take on the challenges associated with growth, see personal advancement with growth of organization; an advanced university degree with at least 7 years experience working at a senior management level in international development; background in media or a demonstrated capacity to understand and manage development media programs is strongly desired; a thorough understanding of Nepal and its challenges; strong leadership skills, a consistent communicator, both written and oral; solid business management and excellent networking skills.
