DeVeDe optimization for multicore processors

I've searched the web, but that didn't help. I have the following
problem:
Before decoding .mkv to dvd I enable the "optimize for multicore
processors" option, but the program still uses only half of the
processor capabilities (I have Intel Core 2 Duo T8100). Enabling the
optimizing really makes no difference. DeVeDe requires mencoder 1.0
RC2 or later for multi threading and I have RC3, so that should work.
I would really appreciate any help on this. Thanks!

Multicore optimizations in Mencoder are quite light, so don't spect to
use the 100% of them. You should ask to the mplayer team.
