Hello!
Does anyone know how to fix a Jebo hood? I think there is a short, so one of the switch doesn't lock in on/off position anymore so the light is always on. The hood has 3 lights/switches and the other two are still working fine. However, the short is now causing plastic casing to melt and smells like smoke.

Johnson & Johnson baby oil works well too. Rubbing alcohol runs off and
drys a bit too fast. Baby oil will sit on the adhesive and slowly
dissolve it as the oil will not evaporate. You can also rub it gently
with your fingers to speed up the process. It's also not toxic.

I just can't figure out how they squeeze oil out of babies....

ma bad. i thought it was a glass tank. should have pay more attention to whats going on.

To: detritus@googlegroups.com

Windex can be used as well. The trick is to let it sit for 3 minutes after dousing the adhesive with it. Nail polish remover should not be used on acrylic, as it will eat away at the plastic. Since this adhesive sits on the outside, not the inside, I think you are alright in doing what you can to take it off.

I wouldn't use a blade on plexi. Glass is fine, but any softer material
would get scratched.

yes indeed. mike is correct it will if you use rubbing alcohol. also you can use finger nail polish remover too but much more poisoners than alcohol
good to hear from you mike
Joe

To: detritus@googlegroups.com

I little rubbing alcohol would take it off.

Toodles!

Mike Gunn-SFO

Since you have no CO2, you might be doing too many water changes. Try to refrain. If you have a higher fish load, consider some more % floating plants, eg water sprite is good.

This should export the waste easily and no require added CO2(floating plants can nab it from air), and if you place the floating plants via the current patterns, it can block the light from the glass.

 Hi Tom,

I never did well in Chemistry. Physics is much more straightforward to me. If you don't mind, what does "Focus on CO2/add PO4" mean? Are you saying that the algae is there because of an abundance of CO2? I have no CO2 injection in this tank, though I had initially meant to go in that direction until your talk at a SVAS meeting a few months ago.
