Hey Erin,

I forgot  to mention these lampeyes do well if you can feed them frequent small meals. I feed mine about 4 x a day. They love baby brine shrimp, fine powdered and crushed flake foods, freeze dried blood worms (mosquito larvae) Walter worms, and I'm sure they will love your wingless fruit flies. Enjoy these beautiful fish! Also, if you want to breed them they spawn like most killis by floating mops. Eggs hatch in about 15 days. They are about ready to start spawning too. I saw some fry in the tank they were in a few weeks ago.

ttyl,
Doug

Hey Doug, Thanks for the tips! I rarely feed my fish more than once a day
... do you think they'll suffer without those frequent small meals? But I do
have all those foods you mentioned so maybe I'll start throwing something in
more often.
I'm planning on keeping them in a community tank -- I'm finally ready to
start stocking my 55g planted plexi. I'm planning on keeping a school of
those lampeyes along with a school of little yellow rainbows (furcata,
ivanstoffi, etc.). At the bottom levels of the tank will be a pair borelli
apistos and maybe also khuli loaches or sidthimunki botia (if they don't
prevent the borelli from breeding, that is). I've also got some baby bettas
in there for now. Do you think the lampeyes will get along with all those
other fish?
Eryn
