I'll start with the bad news -- Bachelor revised their lift ticket
methodology this season and eliminated the multi-ride pass many
paraglider pilots have been using for the last few seasons.

The good news is I contacted the marketing director today and pointed
out that we typically only need one or two rides to the summit on days
when we fly there and asked if there's some way we can work out a ride
pass or a single-ride ticket for paraglider pilots. His reply, "We are
working on a product for your purposes. Shoot me a note in a week or
so and we should have an answer together."

So it's not a done deal yet, but I'm optimistic we'll have an
affordable lift ticket option for paragliding at Bachelor this season.

Nice Steve, Thanks for doing the work.

Some ski lifts in the European Alps offer reduced price tickets to
pilots because they attract more people. At least that's been the case
a few years back. I really loved that.

The deal is done. Here's the message I received from the Bachelor
marketing manager this morning about paragliding lift tickets: "There
will be a $15 2-ride ticket made for you guys. People show the card
and they get a 2-ride ticket (to get them up Sunrise and Summit) for
$15. People who want to take 2 full trips in a day, will be buying it
twice or using a different type of ticket."

In order to buy a paragliding lift ticket each pilot will need to show
a USHPA card at the ticket window.

This sounds like an excellent outcome.  Does this take the place of signing waivers, or is that still required?

From the Bachelor website:

Thurs Oct 29

October snow can be a tease. Yes we saw about a foot earlier in the week and some hikers had a ball on the cone, but the temp has warmed and we're seeing a wet forecast coming up. We'll keep our eye on that snow level and the long term forecast for windows to kick off snowmaking for the year. Nov. 20 remains the current projected opening day.

Waivers are still required. This is just another option for getting yourself and your glider to the summit. In previous years there were points passes or Flexride passes, but neither of those are available this year.
