Forecast for 9000' is light wind and the Summit lift is open!
"We have a full palette on the slate today from Rainbow to Northwest with Summit on the plan to join us for the first time this season! We are setting up for another nice day with clear skies, good visibility and calm winds."
"Yesterday's good visibility allowed crews to complete the needed prep work on Summit. Merry sunny Christmas folks. Summit will be for EXPERTS ONLY. There's no grooming on Summit because of the many rocks and hazards. We have opened terrain from Cow's Face to Bev's Hill and into the Bowls. Be smart - do not go up just to be in over your head."

We've got a group going up today. Bill Taylor is up there already, he's getting the waiver forms moved from West Village to the Sunrise ticket window, and he's going up to the summit with skis to check the wind. Wade, John, Eric and I are getting ready to head up to Bachelor and we'll be at the Sunrise ticket window by 11:30 if not sooner.

Bachelor website says, "Summit is, however, on a Weather Hold due to
low visibility. The other 9 lifts will open at 9am. If visibility
improves, Summit may open."

Weather permitting Im heading to the Oceanside Fly in this weekend, looks like it might settle down by Friday eve, Ill probably camp at Cape lookout state park, hope to see some Bend pilots.
