Subject: black butte? Hoo Doo?
Hey All,
Who's flown BB recently? they site guide does not list a wind
direction so I are cornfused.

additionally, I have looked longingly at HooDoo ski hill and haven't
made it there to look it over. Has anyone else thought of it (summer
or winter??)

Comments?

Doug

From the Black Butte site guide page: "The trail to launch goes through several launchable areas on the south side. The rest of Black Butte is tree covered. The primary launch is the grassy slope below the fire lookout building." The wind direction needed to launch is south +/-45 degrees, or light & variable with thermal cycles.

Hoodoo: It doesn't strike me as a promising flying site because of the topography.Steve

I do know of someone =-) that has flown (stoned out) at Hoodoo during
the winter a few years ago. The ski lift is inviting but the terrain
is not.

Willamette Pass ski area was also flown years ago, but didn't pan out as a long-term flying site.Steve
