Summary

WellTok, based in LoDo Denver, is a catalyst for better health through its pioneering Social Health Management solution CaféWell.  CaféWell makes getting better connected to your health and fitness more fun and more rewarding.  CaféWell provides one stop for consumers’ health, wellness and fitness -- including social networking; advice from experts, peers and veteran professional athletes; fun health challenges with family members and co-workers; and reliable health and fitness information.

 

WellTok has openings for expert, energetic software engineering pros to join us in our LoDo office.  We are a small team in which your impact will be huge.  We are not looking for someone who just follows orders and writes code, we want someone who enjoys the freedom and responsibility of designing and building systems from the ground up.  We believe our short iterations and our direct involvement with the business are two major ingredients to our proven value we have been delivering to our customers.

We’re looking for sharp engineers who have the ability to cut through the cruft and identify the root cause of a problem.  Instead of just fixing symptoms over and over again, you identify and separate what must be done now and what should be improved later.  No one writes perfect code so you are diligent about ensuring your code is thoroughly tested.

You are fanatical about customer’s needs and empowering them with technology that is simple to use while also fast and robust. 

You are able to design and build solutions at multiple levels of the technology stack.  We don’t expect you to be an expert in all areas but we expect you to be hands on with all areas and defer to others on the team when you need help tackling an area you are not comfortable with. 

Qualifications                                             

• ·       Proven experience developing web-based applications that are used by real people right now.
  
• ·       You have solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and distributed, scalable systems.
  
• ·       You are proficient working with Ruby on Rails. 
  
• ·       You know the operating systems (*nix) you use to develop and run your code on intimately.  You are able to identify and solve problems related to the development and production operating systems your code runs on.
  
• ·       You are personable and enjoy working and socializing with colleagues.  You work will in a team and enhance the performance of other engineers by sharing and educating them on the areas you have the greatest expertise in.
