Hello Greg, not sure if I'm exactly what your looking for, but we'll see. First, I should say that I am new to Ruby -- but not to programming. I've done server side coding before with php/mysql, worked extensively with java, have been using html/css/javascript off and on for years and years. I'm halfway through a CS degree and done with it I think. Feel like it's slowing me down, if anything. I got this idea in my head recently to learn Ruby and Rails, through and through, and then do some serious work with it; and I still plan on following through with that, but at the moment, I'd say I'm.. about 10% there (or, halfway through, "The Ruby Programming Language"). But I do learn quickly and have some decent coding ability. Actually, those are the two things I'll be attempting to sell myself on :) You can see some of my work here:
http://myjavaserver.com/~weston. Yep, the projects are all in an entirely different domain, but the skills are transferrable. And I do have good networking/web knowledge.
One problem may be that I'm not ready to work immediately. Soon, but not immediately. I'm settling into a new place and finishing up with a protracted stretching regimen that requires me to not use computers too much for a while (thanks, RSI). Also, I'd like to be able to show some of my work in Ruby (and I'm sure you wouldn't mind either) first. So, maybe more than anything I'm just letting you know I'm out there if you need someone about like myself in the near future. Thanks for your time!
