We are looking at organizing a SQLSaturday here in the Denver Area in
February. We have been speaking with the organizers of the Tech Tri-
Fecta and possibly joining in on their efforts. The idea and hope is
to add more value to our user group members by providing more learning
opportunities. If all goes well, we may even consider two such events
a year.

To host such an event has it's costs which tend to be rather high. We
have heard from different sponsors that their budgets for such events
have been cut drastically. As such, we are looking at ways to help
with these costs.

One of the biggest costs to put on an event such as this is the
venue. As such, I am asking for your help and input for a meeting
location that could hold between 450 to 650. Ideally the location
would have one large room for the welcome/keynote and several smaller
rooms for the different sessions. The cost would have to be
relatively low, maybe under $200 or so for us to entertain the
location. If you have any ideas, please email me directly at marc

Another large cost is the lunch. One idea that is being passed around
and has worked well at other SQL Saturday events, is to charge a
minimal amount to the attendees. Something reasonable that would
cover at least most of the lunch cost.

Again, if you have any connections, ideas, inside scoop with regards
to a location or any other general inquiries, please email me directly
at marc <at> marcbeacom <dot> com.
