Hello there, I'm getting a huge number of these errors in the logs

04:15:08.92 3 IMAP-34586([202.86.118.106]) IDLE reading failed. Error Code=connection closed by peer

By huge I mean we have about 70 clients and there are thousands of these over the course of a day, we also get lots of these as well.

11:06:17.89 3 IMAP connection to port [0.0.0.0:143] from [84.19.34.68:2154] rejected 11:06:17.90 3 IMAP too many (50) streams open

I've increased the number of streams (Not sure if better is up or down, I assume more is better in this instance) to 500 and I've also turned the logging level up as well, but to be honest logging level ALL is a bit beyond me at the mo.

Now nothing has changed on this server but we started getting problems about 3 weeks ago, with individual clients getting kicked out of outlook with network type errors. I assumed it was the firewall as it really needed to be replaced, but I've replaced this now and I freely admit I should have looked at the IMAP logs way before this, and it would appear to be a different problem.

Any pointers would be great.

Regards

"c" versions are the current development versions, so 5.3c2 would be the latest development version.
5.2.17 would be the latest stable version.

There are some mailbox compatibility issues between the 5.3x series and previous versions that were addressed in 5.2.17. So, the idea is if you plan to upgrade to 5.3x in the near future, the upgrade to 5.2.17 would be a good idea so that if you needed to back off the 5.3x upgrade, you would not experience mailbox incompatibility problems.

My own philosophy is to keep up with the latest stable version, so I'll probably upgrade to 5.2.17 when it next fits into my schedule. Of course, YMMV and you should evaluate each upgrade whether it is appropriate for your organization.

HTH,
Bret

In my previous conversations with CGP support I was told the 5.3 version
will add support for open source codecs as iLBC , GSM and maybe SPEEX. Can
support provide some info about timeframe?

How about CardDAV support? We would really appreciate the ability to sync our Mac Address Book to CGP as easily as we can with Outlook.

Please, please, please consider adding this somewhat new standard.

I think too that CGP should support CardDAV as soon as possible: today Windows users can experience a "full-featured" client solution thanks to the MAPI Connector and Outlook (e-mail, calendar and contacts) which gives them offline access to their data, but the growing Mac user share is still left alone with only e-mail and calendar (Mail.app and iCal) on the client.
Ok, there is the iSync Agent from ITooLabs, but it's still a beta version and... why increasing deployment and configuration efforts while that feature can be just supported by a native system application? Moreover, the day will come when each user will ask to have his personal contact list syncing with his desktop IP phone,  in the same way his smartphone does today: whereas CGP might already support this with its XIMSS interface, it's more likely that CardDAV will be a preferred choice.
Sincerely.
Andrew
