Due to problems with spoofed From: headers, we're tightening up the security of our mailing lists.

Is is possible to change the ownership of a list? I don't see any way to do this in the admin interface, but it's been suggested that moving things around in the filesystem may be a simple (safe?) way to do this.

Thanks,

Adam

Don't we all wish there was an easy way to do this.

Essentially, you have to manually edit files and move folders to do it. My local wiki instructions say:

  1. Move the list mbox and folder to the new owner
  2. Edit the list.settings file and change the owner account
  3. update the new owner's account.info file by copying the list archive folder info from the old owner's account.info file
  4. Restart CGPro.
My server restarts itself every night, so I tend to do the first three steps late in the day and let the nightly restart take care of it. But if you list is active, then you have to just pick a slow time and do it all at once.

This is one of these issues that seems fairly simple for Stalker to fix and yet they won't....
