My ADSL2+ line keeps dropping the connection. If this persists do I
phone BT or Demon?

Was fine Sat AM. Came home Sun eve and had no connection. The
"broadband" Led was flashing for about 30min, internet led off. It got a
connection but dropped it the instant I hit google in my browser. The
log showed it was up for 14 sec and connected for 11 sec. 7 min later it
still hadn't reconnected long enough to login to Demon. I switched the
Technicolor router off, waited 30sec and switched it back on. This did
nothing. Rebooted again. Took 18 min to get a connection. With traffic
from LastFm it seemed to stay up. But log shows it has dropped the line
twice this morning.

Any obvious line noise on the POTS circuit?

I'd be inclined to ask BT to do an automatic physical line test and see
if they can find a dry joint in the cable to the exchange first (even if
you have to fib a bit about an intermittent noise problem). Beware if
you call them out and it is no fault found or a fault inside your home
wiring they will charge you an arm and a leg for just turning up.

If TDR detects a fault in their wiring they log it then go and fix it.

Otherwise you have to go through your ISP and will have to satisfy them
you have done all the modem into master test socket directly tests.
(these are worth doing you don't want to get stiffed by BT)

Providing a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits to the service engineer
will probably get you a better than average connection repair.

First time ever, Demon didn't say it's my fault and that if I re-booted
everything would be all-right in the morning. Maybe it's the service I
get on Business Broadband instead of Home Office.

And then the BT online linetest said there was a fault and they would
fix it.

So how many Openreach vans have to be clustered round the green cabinet
starting at 9:00am to fix a line by 16:43?

3 and 1/2 mile up road I met another one on it's way into the village.

I'll set it as cleared if I've not had any more linedrops by Thur 17:00
