mail from php pages failing?

I have a (demon-hosted) php page which automatically sends me an e-mail
alert when someone lands on it.
Recently, though, there seem to have been intermittent failures - one
yesterday evening. I assume I'd get them as the wording is always pretty
similar (unless some filter objects to some people's names) so I'm guessing
that they're not always being sent. Does anyone know why this might be?
