Problems after migrating from homepages to Web Hosting Advanced

I needed more bandwidth for my site so I migrated it i.e. this one

I migrated from the homepages service, which has been working I've
been using for about 10 years.
Now after the upgrade everything seemed to be fine. However as soon as
I uploaded some files to the server the site started showing this
Error 404 Not found

Which is very odd. I didn't touch index.htm. I called the phone
support and they said that there was something wrong with the site. My
files used to be in /docroot. That file had gone and there is only a /
doc folder. They said I can't just create a /docroot folder here, and
they're right - I don't have the permissions to do that.
They are working on it but quoted a 24 to 48 hour fix time, which is
far too long. Anyone know a way to speed things up?
