Hey all,
So this is a VERY over due communica. This up coming weekend at
Westin Lombard Yorktown Center at 70 Yorktown Center Lombard, IL 60148 I am throwing a Dementia Radio room party at Windy Con(http://www.windycon.org). The point of the party is 2 pronged. 1st off, there's a very large concentration of Dementia folks in chicago, and none of the cons there have very good dementia tracks. So I'm trying to show Windy Con the interest there is in Chicago for having a dementia track. Secondly, November is Dementia Radio's anniversary, which I just realized we missed. It was last friday. The 1st day Dementia Radio was up and streaming was Monday the 6th of Nov 2000. So last friday was the 9th anniversary, next year will be the big 10th! So I'm going to have the 10th anniversary party at Windy Con as it's the closest con to that date. And also, we want to advertise Dementia Radio to any one at Windy Con who's interested.
SO, at the Dementia Radio room party this year, I plan to have Buffy the musical and the Dr. Horrible sing along on Friday. They've both worked really well at other cons getting attention to the room parties and they both involve off beat music. Then Saturday night we are going to have Rock Band provided by Madman. He has tons of downloaded content. I might also buy a copy of Band Hero cause i'm so very happy there's a band game out with GOOD songs(imo). I'm bringing my FULL open soda rig and if i have time, making some Rice Kristi Treats. When i get to chicago, i'll prolly go buy some other room party supplies. What other items should we have? any one willing to bring stuff if they are coming? i'd love to have some dementia punch, we just need to have some one watching it at all times. any one else have suggestions on what other activities we could do? perticually friday night. We could prolly do adventures through youtube comedy. i'm not bringing my full casting rig because mostly the parties will be during shows and we aren't preementing them for the con like marscon. Oh! I think any one with a Dementia Radio shirt should were it one or both nights. Should we coordinate which ones to were what night?
I'd also like to do another dinner at Ed Debevic's on Friday night like we did last year. Do the locals have a suggestion for time for that to happen? The web site mentions group deals, are we interested in that?
So if you're any where in the chicago area, I incourage you to come to windy con, even if you don't get a badge, come show your support for dementia radio and come to the room party.
