Riding to Bani Dham !

I was browsing internet for places in NCR which has green patches and rough  roads for some off-roading. Found this article about a place called Bani Dham very interesting, though the person who wrote it did this stretch on a Royal Enfield ...... I think it would be fun to ride it on our Royal cycles ....... let me know if anyone finds some interest in it ...we will plan accordingly to get there on some weekend !!

Hello Guys,

 

Though I initiated this thread for a ride to Bani Dham, I won't be able to join you guys this sunday because of some commitments I already made before posting this thread. I wanted to know the interest of fellow riders first and than decide a date, however as coming sunday has been finalised as D-Day by a lot many riders, i would wish you guys all the best for the ride. I would request someone among you guys (may be Tanaya) to take the initiative and plan the basic things, like meeting point and start time etc as I am out of the ride.

 

I would also suggest you all to carry extra tubes and puncture repair kits for the ride as most of it would be on dirt track. If anyone among you knows anybody from Pedal Yatris than do call him/her as they have already done this strech before (got to know this from my subsequent searches done for teh ride on internet).

Hi,

We at Gurgaon's Pedalyatri discovered Bani Dham almost a year ago. It
was from here that we discovered the entire Manger trail and also the
route from here to Damdama.
Incidentally, the MTB Event that we organised in September was along
the Bani Dham trail.
A few points about the trail.
1. It is scenic.
2. The cemented path to the dham is VERY sharp downhill (consequently,
uphill when u return)
3. The trail is unpaved, but beautiful.
4 although Banidham is fairly early on the trail, it nevertheless has
enough Keekar (thorns) to result in punctures. So please come prepared
with tubes, puncture repair kits. Best would be to use a puncture
resistant gel in your tubes.

all including me were confused and are still confused if this ride is
maturing or not and what is the exact plan...

this is the reason in all probability that less riders turn up...

Yes a facebook event clearly shows who is attending who is not and
other details thats why i suggested one...

also as i can see yes you initiate rides and do it professionally
which is very appreciable...

but if all the members are on a facebook so we all can see who all is
there and who all are attending it will only encourage...

you have been fantastic i agree but yes there needs some work to be
done...i do not understand why the big hype if we all are on yahoo
group so we all can be on facebook group too...its just more better
and clearer...

yup you right bro.but like dcc it will have few hundred of members who are just active on facebook and still not making on rides. as far dcc blog concerned of bani dham. people who wanted to ride were confused themselves wheather to ride or not and nobody was willing to post detail and exact plan on blog. so if sum1 is initiating then even dcc is fine.

one can make groups on any comunity thats not problem. its good to have another blog and even serveral blogs on orkut and what not.

 

but this wont solve the problem. this is not solution of people not showing up........

 

i was adressing the whole dcc community that instead of thinking about all this, why cant one simply ride. and what u said that turnout is less its nothing to do with blog.

 

you see if sum1 is willing to join has determination and passion to ride then he can read messege from dcc blog and can turn up on the ride.

 

if we do make list on facebook then also it will be few regular riders who want to ride , and they will only say yes to event.. because if others want to come they come even by looking at dcc blog

 

there are 700 members and each discussion goes to their mailboxes. what else can happen.

 

i personally dont mind people making other blogs and groups and posting rides there.

 

but problem we are dealing here is not going to solve by this.

 

be it anyride wheather dcc or any other person who initiates it.  its not the seperate blog or group that matters. its dertermination and will to ride what matters.

 

see i post same message on bikeindia and same message on dcc. the same mesage people read. so how other community can help i simply cant understand.

i also post on facebook. that serves the same purpose. and people who want to come only they come. rest are only reading mesages and dont know what thinking............lol

 

its not like sumesh has posted on bikeindia. but he has  not posted on dcc so i wont come because i ve not read messege on dcc.....  messege is same ......

 

this is just what i feel. i may be wrong. its good if others initiate and make riding groups onorkut, facebbok, hi5 and others..........increasing community is a good thing

Those who really wants to ride 'are riding'. 

email post is there - phone number is there....ride plan is there....2-3 meeting points are mentioned.. ..what else one wants...

It is the responsibility of the "interested person" to contact and join the ride. You can not make phone call to each and then keep on waiting till they reach meeting point and destroy the beautiful morning by looking at the road.

People are not joining ride simply means they don't have time or interest......so let them be....

I agree with Rachit..... it is determination and initiative which is required, DCC mailing or facebook won't make much difference.

But this very thread is not informative enough for people to turn up.

Honestly Gurvinder i am very curious till date to know if this ride to
bani dham happened or not so i can learn from the experience and look
