Dear DelcoAD Group,
I want to thank all of you for your support and assistance with our Open House Coffee Bar - Resource Fair, co-hosted by State Representative Nick Miccarelli, last week.
Thank you to all agency representatives and volunteers for taking the time to speak with Collingdale residents. You were all so present and thorough, making each individual feel special.
I am sorry that not all of us were able to make it, but I believe you were well represented. I did indeed take notes about each customer, his or her contact information, and specific requests relating to other services, so I will be following up with some of you on that too.
To recap, it was a lovely and successful event and a great gauge on how best to plan and approach our future local outreach efforts. I noted that this event is the beginning of a number of DelcoAD resources and financial awareness programs and outreach events happening over the Summer months.
The Original Coffee Bar was an intimate, warm and welcoming environment, and such was felt by the gathering of people. The Owner, Gary Lytle, was a wonderful host, and very enthusiastic about helping his fellow neighbors and customers become more aware of DelcoAD and its resources... Not to mention sharing his “best” brownie of all time!
Many Collingdale residents and local customers attended, as well as commuters from the Septa stop (conveniently located adjacent to the Coffee Shop). This included people of all ages and circumstances; Thus, carrying over to the added value and relevance of our network’s diversification of resources.
Representative Miccarelli was a huge support and solid advocate during the open house. He was gracious and helpful, greeting everyone, answering questions, and becoming acquainted with each resident’s individual needs and concerns.
Lastly, Kathleen Carey, from The Delco Times, is currently writing a piece on our event, which I will forward along to everyone once it’s published. On behalf of DelcoAD, I thanked her for helping us spread the word about our efforts to provide financial literacy and other resources to the Delaware County Community.
Please contact me if you have additional questions about the event.
And you all know I will be contacting you again shortly!
Once again, great job everyone and thank you for all of your support in making this event come to life. I saw the difference you made for the people who attended and believe in the longstanding impact your assistance will have on them... As well as carrying over through word of mouth.
Most Sincerely,
Devyn
