I can still remember my childhood days when kids my age are all crazy
about WWII German tanks (or models/movie of them) like King Tiger,
Tiger I and II.

Maybe some of the vintage TFK/Valvo tubes were used in those tanks.

Any chance that EL156, EZ150 or similar German tubes be used in a
Leopard tank?

BTW, I got a pair of WWII TFK RES1664d which I understand is a direct
heated pentode. Can it be used to build an audio amp?

I think we can find a lot of tubes like cl4, ae..., ak...,rens... made
by Valvo and Tfk from Germany. May be we should ask Dieter to provide
some schematics and act as our instructor to build some German design
amplifiers.

They were, lots of them...

Nope, too modern. It's all SS stuff...

Of course, it's a very nice 12W power pentode, though indirectly
heated...

It's possible of course, but an expensive endavour. If you venture into
those designs, you need to shell out quite a bid of money as you need to
aquire at least spare set of tube at the same time. In 5~10 years
from now they're probably even more expensive as the are getting scarcer
every year...

Ah, I was misinformed then. The RES1664d will be the project after the
EL156.
