My grandfather Avram Schwager was a victim. What I heard was that the Nazi's closed the synagogue where he was the rabbi. He went to hold the service and was machine gunned on the steps. "Never Again" to me has always meant that we must never permit genocide again, which we are a far way from. My grandfather Louis always interpreted the meaning of the Torah in the most global terms. As Gods chosen among children to be the example of the highest standard. Nazi-ism is a lethal blend of racism- intolerance of anyone who is "different"- and fascism (corportatism as Mussolini called it), as Jews we can permit neither of these ideologies of intolerance or immoral economic system based on war which is genocide itself. We must be a standard of what is better in humanity and never again fall victim to small-minded leaders who lead us into darkness and despair with promises of personal gains and superiority.
