not able to load data from Excel file

Hi,
I am new to Deducer. I would like to have guidance on the following issue, and I hope not to pose a question already asked.
When I try to import my dataset frm an Excel file, I got an error message saying that there is no package called "XLConnect". I guess that it is for this reason that the command "ReadWorksheet" is not found.
I tried to search for that package but I do not manage to find it. Is it not available any more?

I am using R 2.15.1, JGR 1.7-11, MAC SnowLeopard.

Due to some issues with the CRAN repository, only the "source"
distribution of that package is available. type:

install.packages("XLConnect", type = "source")

to install.
