Dear colleagues,

Yesterday I installed Deducer on R 2.15.3. While all the menu functions are working fine, I cannot run any linear or logistical model from the menu. I select the variables, press continue but then the window closes and nothing happens. Do you have any idea of what's going on?

Thank you very much,

Danilo Freire

never heard of this happening before. Does any output get emitted to the console when this happens? please paste the result of sessionInfo() to the group. Also, can you share a dataset where this occurs, and the model specification that fails.

If you installed Deducer recentily from CRAN, it is possible that you installed a version built for R 3.0.0, which is a major upgrade, and perhaps there are backwards-compatibility issues with your R 2.15.3.

If you have permission to do it, I'd suggest you install R 3.0.0, and re-install all your old packages, including Deducer - copy the library folder of R 2.15.3 to the new installation folder, and do from the console: update.packages(checkBuilt=TRUE).

Hi all (Ian)

Based on an earlier comment I saw that R 3 was now out.

I installed that in a separate directory but somehow it killed Deducer
and R 2.15.

Now what? CRAN shows R 3 now as THE install no longer 2.15 so I can not
re-install and copy lib files over.

Hi all,

I indeed had some problems with my R 2.15.3 and Deducer. Now I installed the packages again (as recommended by Helios), and everything seems to work fine.

Thank you very much for your replies and suggestions. I am very happy with this community! :-)

All the best,

Danilo
