Google Hamburg—Internship Offer
Implementation and Integration of an HTML5
Front- and Back-End to a Multimodal Search Engine
The internship consists in the implementation and integration of an HTML5 (mobile and desktop) front- and back-end (JavaScript, node.js) to a multimodal search engine. The development will happen on latest Android devices# and on bleeding-edge Web browsers; a prototype exists.
The work happens in the context of a European research project with multinational partners and requires occasional travel activity to plenary meetings. The successful candidate has excellent JavaScript and node.js skills and an overall active interest in the technology stack described by the buzz word HTML5.
Part of the work also includes the documentation of the practical programming job in form of presentations with visibility in the European Commission. Having a sense for design and mobile application development is a plus.
Applicants need to be students with a Bachelors/Masters degree in progress. To be eligible, students need to return to full-time education for at least 3 months after the internship. Priority given to applicants graduating late 2012 or during 2013. The start date is in June/July for a duration of 3–6 months. For questions, please contact Thomas Steiner.
