Anyone know if Snake OS will work on this device?
http://ew168.com.tw/demo/acube/en/index.php

I pulled the board and can confirm it has a star STR8132 chip in it.

price?

Cheers

It seems to be a nice piece of hw... where did you buy it?

Here are screenshots of its web interface and photos of the device itself and internals.

I purchased it brand new off of ebay from the seller claimthis for under $60.  The device works pretty well overall and I have used both its iTunes server and bittorrent functionality with no problems.  The only issue I have is I can't get it to connect at gigabit speeds even though apparently it is 10/100/1000 capable.  It might just be a hardware issue with my particular unit.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi catamounts,

It is not directly compatible, judging by firmware version page, flash size (8MB) and overall web pages rather different than k330/652 pages. I have downloaded firmware update to take a look.

To customize it, there are pins for serial and JTAG access (apparently), that could enable system hacking and flash rewrite, hopefully.
Also, it has a dedicated raid chip sil5744 (picture is blurred, am I correct?), which is very cool. Can you send "Device Information" and "Harddisk Utility" screens?

This device will cost about $96 with shipment to Brazil from this seller, which is on par with the cost of this kind of hardware raid enclosure (without NAS functions) alone here. Even with the event of added taxes here, it seems a somewhat good buy. Also note to whom demand high performance, that there are better dual bay NAS with higher prices and better processors.

Thank you for the info. I'm interested in ordering one also. Do you
know if the built-in bittorrent client is https tracker compatible?
I still have problems contacting https tracker using snakeOS'
transmission; the only fix I found is using another client within
debian chroot.

Also if you don't want to use ebay you can order one here:
http://www.phoenixdirecttech.com/products/1342-cube-v200-2-bay-network-storage-enclosure.aspx

Not sure about the shipping though.

It looks like Phoenix Direct doesn't ship to Brazil, unfortunately.

Can you please share the manual download url?
I can't find it on official website.

Many thanks and congrats for the SnakeOS project.

I recently purchased the @CUBE V200. It works good but it won't stream
video to my WDTV LIVE media player. WD says it should work if the NAS
supports UPnP, but the instructions that came with the @CUBE does not
show how to set this up.

When you try to enable the UPnP it asks for a file to upload or
install, but this file did not seem to come on any of the disks. Does
anyone know how to get this feature working?

The documentation says it supports NTFS formating but the software
does not give you that choice. Is there any advantage to having the
harddrives formated to NTFS and if so, how do you do this?

Otherwise, I have mine setup as a RAID 1 with two 2TB hard drives. It
seems to work fine except for the streaming issue mentioned above.

For the formatting NTFS if the V200 has the option to be connected as a USB drive then you can format the drive NTFS or whatever as a USB drive, then charge it back to the network.  If no USB option then you will have to remove the drive from the V200 and temporarily connect the drive to a controller in your PC and format there.
Read the formatting section in my web site for more details: (different NAS but should be similar as far as the formatting)

Hi was wondering if any progress was made on putting snake os on the @
cube. I have 2 @cubes, and love them for the most part. They are also
knock offs of this "http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?
Item=N82E16817388023",.
