Well, I'd like to test the SnakeOS before installing it, how can I do
that? Can I create a virtual machine or something like that just to
test it?

Hi.
There is no working way.
Some efforts taken with qemu. (Search discussions,)
But no real achievement.

As far as I know QEMU doesn't support this process fully or something like that. Am I right, Robert?

Hi Ricardo,

As I understand mails between Douglas and one of the man:

Emulation was only partial. It was a general ARM loader or kernel not
SNAKE.

Qemu was started with not Douglas SNAKE specific kernel (or
loader?)
(I have no enough deep knowledge on the technical part.)

Anyone tried this again? I really wanted to use this in a virtual environment, but never really had time to try it.

I made a buildroot package that contained most of snakeos features that you could build an image for qemu's versatile board and use to test snakeos features under qemu.
Search botbot in this forum for details about where to get the source and get the emulator running.

Building as part of buildroot would be good for snakeos as it allows it to be.easily pushed to new platforms independently of kernels, toolchains etc

Ok, I'll search for it, thanks!
