execute script under different user 
  how can I write a script who logs in as a different user and execute some commands under this user? (without typing password?) I know there is a possibility to write a program and set the SUID flag. But does exist another possibility? thanks ---philipp

Compatability of AIT between HP-UX and Solaris 
  Hi, I need to transfer some data written on an HP UX 10.20 machine onto a Solaris V7 machine, both machines have an AIT-2 tape drive attached. The AIT-2 tape drives are identical as far as I can see (Sony SDX-500C). When I use a typical tar command (tar -cvf /dev/rmt/1mn) to copy some data onto an AIT-2 tape on the HP, I can read the data back on the HP okay.... more »

Multisession mit cdrecord unter Solaris 2.6

UNIX Data recovery 
  We have a Seagate ST11200ND 1.2 GB Hard Disk. We are using this on a Concurrent Corporation MAXION computer. It runs Concurrent UNIX Version 4.2 It was left working on a weekend.
