I want to thank all those that participated and attended the DC Latino Caucus elections, and have sent me congratulatory notes. I have received many notes, but Dan, as usual, does a good job at summarizing things (thank you Dan). I called Dan before the elections, asking him to become a member of the DC Latino Caucus so he could vote for me, and even though he had a commitment, he, like many others, chose to came to our elections to support the work we do at the DC Latino Caucus. We are most humbled for the support. Thank you. Franklin.
P.S. You can see photos of elections at: http://www.dclc.org/events/dclcofficerelections2011.htm.

Subject: FRANKLIN GARCIA RE-ELECTED PRESIDENT DC LATINO CAUCUS
Honorable Members,
Franklin Garcia, our incredibly energetic, bright, sincere
Ex-Officio member won re-election last week as President of the DC Latino
Caucus. His leadership has been instrumental in gaining increasing
influence among the Latino community that continues to grow significantly in
size in the District.
The Latino Caucus election turnout was large and spirited. Franklin won
64 percent of the vote. Translation services were provided thruout the
election process to ensure every voter would clearly understand and have the
information needed to vote for each elected position. Chair Ronnie
Edwards and members of the Party Organ. & Functions Committee once again
ran the election with elan and aplomb.
We all know the value Franklin has provided to the State Committee, including
the IReporter Newsletter he has edited, the myriad photos he has taken and
shown us for the many activities the DSC has been involved in these past three
years, the beautifully developed and up-to-date DSC Website and his
significant contributions to the two DC Democratic Conventions held under Anita
Bond's leadership. The Communications Committee has thrived under his
leadership like no other such committee in many years.
Best wishes, everyone,
Dan
