WTB/Q: Portable Studio Portrait Lighting

Hello,

I'm interesting in getting into portrait photography using 35mm format
and have been researching a lot of portable lighting kits via
Shutterbug, Photographic, etc. I'm on a tight budget, though and would
like to purchase at least a two light kit for under $700. Currently, the
Novatron K-242-C looks appealing - I'm also looking for expandability,
in case it takes off as I hope it will. Can anyone suggest a good kit
for a beginner? All help would be greatly appreciated. Please respond
