Hi folks

After a successful day at itmegameet.co.uk on Saturday with lots of
interest in Django and DBBUG, I reckon we should arrange another meet
soon.

Rick Hurst has suggested we do some lightning talks at Potato's office
in central Bristol – anyone up for this? I expect we can also arrange
free beer!

I have set-up a doodle for us to agree a date: http://www.doodle.com/53f44r96cf99yfhb

Cheers,
James

Unfortunately I'm off to get married and then on my honeymoon over these dates, I don't think either of these things can be postponed!

The lightning talks sound like an excellent idea, we can definitely arrange beer!

Ben

Speaking as someone who came here after the day at itmegameet.co.uk, I
am hoping I will be welcome :)

Also happy to participate in lightning talks athough I have only been
using Django for a short time I am sure
I can think of something.

Yep, count me in for this. :-)

I am happy to give a lightning talk on how to beat django's
internationalization framework into a pulp that will actually work
with big complex applications and also how we handle model
translations for our big apps.

Cheers,
Rob

Hi,

I could do one on using eggs for managed release and deployment ...

(I wrote it for the last DBUG lightning talks a couple of years ago - and never gave it in the end)

Cheers,
Ed

Amazing! I'm managing a project that is going to need exactly that next month, so will be very nice to hear you talk about it.

@ Rob - would love to hear about that. I've just battled with it myself for a project on App Engine - really like the workflow but before I use it again it would be great to hear some other people's stories.

Wow, ok :-)

It sounds like I better get to work writing something up then :-)

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Cheers,
Rob

Happy to participate with a talk. I am looking at using Django to front an application that makes use of GPUs in the Cloud.

It looks like the front runner is Tuesday 12th June.

The room has been booked at Potato's office in central Bristol from
6:30pm onwards, with beer also supplied by Potato.

The address is:

St Nicholas House
31-34 High Street
Bristol
BS1 2AW

As it's out of business hours, please meet at the side door (5 meters
down the road to the left of the main entrance).

Lots of great talk suggestions – thanks. I'll get an agenda together
in another post next week.

Cheers,
James
