I have connected to no. of databases through dbfit but 1 thing is
still left.
And i badly want to know the way I can connect to a flat file through
dbfit for displaying data in that file and taking data from that
file.
Does anyone have any idea about the same. ???

Write the class for handling flat files through JDBC and share it with the rest of the community!

Not sure if you'll find a JDBC driver for flat files that supports enough of the JDBC API for DbFit to use it as it stands.

Hi Nikhil,
Let me know if you got solution to connect to file using dbfit and also the fixtures to use, steps and sample dbfit page to achieve this.

There's no 'file' database type in dbfit at the moment but there are some JDBC drivers out there that might be viable for a dbfit enhancement: -

and I know Oracle Data Integrator has a file based JDBC driver too that I've used before.

If you're just looking to setup input data files to load to a DB (e.g. data warehouse) then test that the data has arrived in your database then you don't need dbfit for the creation of those files of course.

As a workaround just use HSQLDB. You can define file table.

Quit cool. It's not direct to file but will do job.

Glad I helped :)
Its getting quite powerfull when you run page in standalone mode so you can compare flat file with e.g. Oracle data etc. (of course still memory limits).
