DARTS ontests next weekend 25 / 26 May

Ladies and Gents,

 After some discussion today at the MOSS / OWW field I've decided on a fly what you bring open call up  double elimination format for Saturdays contest. Ok I'm kidding about the double elimination format but the rest holds true.  We will have a couple of winches set up or you can fly your electric sailplanes.   Launch heights will probably be set lower (100m or so for the electric guys) to even out the launch heights.  Man on Man will NOT be flown but rather a something more old school.  Maybe just an open winch where you fly x number of flights and score you best 5, or maybe a ladder format and who ever gets the longest fight or possibly just a simple round flight time and you have up to an hour to take your flight.  I'll come up with something before Saturday and I am OPEN to any suggestions you might have.   My memory is failing me so if there is a contest format you enjoyed flying several decades ago, please let me know before next Saturday.

Saturday will be an OPEN contest to either winch or ALES sailplanes.

Sunday is pure ALES.  50 / 50  format.  I think we had agreed on a $5 entry fee, but I don't recall.

Hey Ray,

 

Hope you can make it to DARTS on Saturday. Dave Wrinkle was the message originator and may chime in with his reply. Guess pilots meeting around 9:30 and flying to start shortly after that. Suppose to be cold in the morning so everyone will be slower moving and will push out the start time. If coming, post up and i'll check messages before heading out. We can have Dave wait on you. Or i'll have my cell phone with me and you can try that to gives us your ETA.

Confirmed 0930 pilots meeting.  (no earlier than 0930 that is.)

Winch and ALES planes will compete side by side.  ALES will probably be set to 100m.  I'm still going with an good ole' lazy day contest with NO man on man flying.  I've still not decided on if we will fly a ladder event or simply a fly a round by round event.
