Discussion Group Transition

Hi everyone, 

As you have read in messages from the board over the past week or so (see thread titled "Separation of Discussion..."), we will be transitioning how we use this Google Group and it will soon become an announcement-only message board.  We plan to make this change in 3 days, with new threads disabled on 6/1. We don't want to discourage the continuation of any ongoing threads of discussion, so any active conversations will be forwarded on that date to the new group, dscn-dis...@googlegroups.com,  which you have all been invited to. Please keep these great conversation going in their new location!

Going forward, though you will not be able to reply to posts, questions about information sent as announcements in this Group will continue to be welcomed, and can be directed to our board at dsnc-...@googlegroups.com, or to any of our individual board members. 

This change is intended to allow for messages with key information to be clearly identifiable and easy to locate. Further, we heard from members who were finding the flow of email notifications from general discussions to be overwhelming- this change will allow for less email volume for those looking to receive only the most essential updates. 

You are encouraged to review your notification settings for both this existing DSNC group, which will now be announcements, and for the new Discussions group. We recommend you choose to be notified of each email in this group, as not to miss any announcements. You can find this setting in "My Membership Settings", which is in the left hand menu, second from the bottom. 

We hope this change enables greater clarity and ability to communicate for all. Keep in mind that all replies, including to this thread, will be turned off in 3 days, but please let us know if you have any questions in the meantime.

Thanks for pointing this out- You're right, this is a typo. The link will take you to the correct place, but the correct name of the group is dsnc-di...@googlegroups.com.

Where/how would I find that invitation? I do not find anything in my
inbox or spam folder with "dsnc-discussion" in the Subject or From
headers, and when I browse to
https://groups.google.com/g/dsnc-discussion
it says "Content unavailable".

I don't seem to be able to view or join the group at https://groups.google.com/g/dsnc-discussion.  Do I have the link wrong, or are the permissions set too restricted?

Hello everyone, 

Thanks for your patience if you've had any trouble accessing the new group, and please do continue to let me know if you encounter issues. 

Zachary, it seems like your link is correct. The permissions for the page have been updated so anyone can request to join, but I also re-sent your invitation email. Let me know if you're still not able to get in. 

For everyone, if you have not yet been able to join the new group there are a couple of ways to do so:

1. You should have received an email invitation. It has landed in the spam folder for some, so if you haven't seen anything be sure to check there. The email sender will be Google Groups, and the subject will be "Invitation to join DSNC Discussion". 

2. If you visit the page directly at https://groups.google.com/g/dsnc-discussion, and you are not yet a member of the group, you should encounter the page pictured below. If you have previously received an email invite, you can click "accept invite" at the top (button circled in red below). 

3. If the email invitation did not go through for some reason, or you'd like to join from a different email address, you can still join from the group page following the link above, by clicking the "join group" link in the center of the page (link also circled in red).
