Beit She'an / Avinadav Hike May 4th – 5th 2012

Dear Hikers,

Come join Mosaic for a fun-filled weekend at the beautiful Beit She'an

Don't forget your swim suits, as the pool will be open, at no
additional charge. The hike will begin from the Maale Gilboa area.
We will start from Mt. Avinadav hiking down to Maarat Avinadav and
Nachal Zvia ending at Ein Muda which will be a very nice place for us
to swim. During the hike we will hear stories from the Tanach,
discuss the security situation and see a lot of wild flowers as a
result of good rainfall we had this winter. The hike will be
approximately four hours in length (intermediate level, mostly
downhill with a little climbing) plus the time to swim at Ein Muda.

*The hostel is offering us discounted vouchers (NIS 29.00 instead of
NIS 38.00 & Matmon cards for free) for entrance to the Beit She'an
Antiquities site. For those interested in visiting the site on
Shabbat morning, you may purchase vouchers at the hostel following the
hike on Friday. Here is the link:

To save on costs, we will head out early Friday morning, and pay for
Friday night lodging only. We will meet at the Youth Hostel at 9:00
am to store our luggage before the hike and then load up in the cars
at 9:15 am to drive to the trailhead. THIS MEANS YOU MUST BE OUT OF
JERUSALEM BY CAR BY 6:45 am the latest to be on time! PLEASE BE
PROMPT! We will not be able to wait for anyone; this would be unfair
to the group.
This hike/weekend is limited to 30 people, and registration is first-
come, first serve, so act fast!

To secure your reservation, deposit/transfer NIS 400.00 for each
participant into the Mosaic bank account at Bank Hapoalim:

VERY IMPORTANT please put your name in the reference area so your
deposit for the hike can be identified. After you make the deposit/
transfer to the account, send an email to the Mosaic treasurer, Craig
Preston, ti...@preston-consulting.com alerting him.

We must receive your NON-REFUNDABLE deposit by 11am on April 29th
2012. This is due to stringent cancellation rules set by the youth
hostel that Mosaic must abide by. If you want to hand deliver your
payment, please contact Craig for instructions (052-348-6117). The
balance for the Tiyul is paid to Mosaic on the day of the hike –
checks please for your security and ours.

Payment includes one night at the Beit Shean Youth Hostel, breakfast,
Shabbat dinner, guide for the Friday hike, and transportation for
passengers/discount for drivers.

Bring with you:

•Friday morning breakfast and lunch for the hike.
•Bathing suit.
•Potluck vegetarian or dairy dish for third meal. We will need a few
people to remember to bring wine. (refrigerator available)
•Toiletries (field school provides shampoo packets)
•Good cheer, board games for Friday night after dinner.
•Shabbat candles & Havdallah set
•Shabbat platot, timers and extension cords
•Bedding and 1 towel provided. Bring with you for the hike

•Good hiking shoes
•Water shoes & and swim clothes
•At least 3 liters of water – at the request of the guide, who asks
that some people carry an extra 1.5 liters
•Lunch and food for the trail on Friday
•Hat and sunscreen

If a participant doesn't come on the day of the hike w/ the
appropriate gear, he/she will not be able to participate, a rule set
by Mosaic and the guide. This is for your safety.

By registering, hikers agree to the above equipment, are over 18, have
health/accident insurance, agree to follow the guide's instructions
and take responsibility for themselves.

Please note: You are not registered unless Trip Organizer confirms
receipt of registration.
