Wednesday results average points request

Hi all,

During race 13 of the Wednesday series both Wayne and I were busy
packing our boats instead of sailing. We had to in order to drive to
Mumbles for our Nationals on the Thursday.

Well, according to the sailing instructions we should get average
points for that race:

16.10 Members of Datchet Water Sailing Club who are competing in
sailing events advertised
on their relevant class association web-site which makes it impossible
for them to sail in a
race at DWSC may claim average points for that race/days races by
following the
procedures laid out in Appendix 4.[...]

Appendix 4 is a nighmare of administravia, I looked for the form
requested and could not find it in the office yesterday. I doubt
anyone actually filled that form in years! Anyway the proof we were
there is on the MYC web site <http://www.mumblesyachtclub.co.uk/
results/2009/F16Nats2009.htm>. So I'd like to formally request that
either the average points are assigned to us for that race or that the
correct form is made available for us to fill.

Eric,

The SI's you are refering to are for the Club Sunday Morning Series.
There are no SI's for the Wednesday evening series as the whole
concept is that this is an informal/non-serious event. The only
defnition of the series is that written on the Wednesday evening page
of the website.

In this spirit the only way I will award you average points for this
is if the whole of the CAT fleet come to me and tell me this is what
should be done.

Personally I do not see this meets the definition anyway. I have
packed my boat up for Open meetings and other events after racing on
Wednesday evening on plenty on many occasions on the past. I do not
see that it was impossible to do both.

By the way, you will need to ask Barry for the form. This is a new
scheme he is trying to introduce for the Sunday series - I am not sure
he has composed the form yet.

In the absence of an SI I was assuming the Sunday's SI were the default SI for all events at the club. I guess I assumed wrong.

Considering we started derigging our boats at 6:00pm and finished with the two on a trailer after nightfall I don't think it would have been a good idea to interject 90 minutes of racing in the middle.
